Admission: $10-$60 with discounts for seniors and groups. Student Rush tickets available for $5 one hour before curtain with valid ID.

General Description: Now in its 44th season, Lyric Opera of Kansas City presents four professional, full-length operas each year, that are accessible and enjoyable to people of all ages and backgrounds. The Lyric Opera produces an eclectic repertoire and offers one production of an American or contemporary opera most seasons. The Company performs operas in their original language and uses projected text or translations above the stage.

Public Transportation/Directions: The Lyric Theatre is located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, at the northeast corner of 11th Street and Central Avenue. Located on the north side of 11th Street, 1-way west between Broadway and Central, the theatre is easily accessible from either I-35 or I-70 by the Broadway Boulevard exits.

Parking: The Lyric Theatre has no parking area. Patrons may use the lot east of the building at 11th & Wyandotte or the 10 Central Car Park. Fees fluctuate between $3.00-$5.00. Preferred handicap parking is at the surface lot to the east at 11th & Wyandotte. B/VI: People who are blind or visually impaired. Seating near the stage can be reserved in advance. Braille and large-print programs are available and program synopses in large print are posted outside. Service animals are welcome.

D/HH People who are deaf or hard of hearing: Assistive listening devices are available. Electronic text in English is provided above the stage.

WC/MI People using wheelchairs or people with mobility impairments: Wheelchair seating can be reserved in advance, with seats dispersed throughout the theatre. The front entrance is permanently ramped. Ramps are a little steep, but there are railings and landings. There are also appropriate curb cuts. On the parking lot at 11th & Wyandotte, van accessible spaces are available (but a little narrow). Primary accessible entrance is the second door right of the ramp; all but the far right outer doors are accessible. Elevators, corridors and aisles are clear of obstacles in the path of travel, and there is good lighting throughout. Water fountain spouts are a little high, but controls are on the front and easily operated.

Other Access Information: Preview orientations are held downstairs, one hour before opera begins, with presenter using a microphone. The Lyric Opera is currently training ushers about access services, so they will be able to answer questions for patrons.
